Application analysis

Application activity

In the window Application activity you can find information about running applications on given stations.

The tab Graphic analysis shows data about running applications and their time in a graphic form.

After establishing parameters such as work scope or organisational units and displaying the list of applications by clicking on a given application or on the Workstation list button, a new window with detailed information about the positions on which a particular application has been called will be displayed.

In addition to the Report of activates application, you can check the date and time for which the application was launched in addition to the job list.

User activity

In the User Activity window in the Report tab, there is a list of positions with summary information on user activity.

The tab Activity analysis shows the activity of the posts on specific days.

  • By clicking the Application history button in a new window, details of active applications in a given time frame for the selected position are displayed. The displayed window contains all the applications that were in the foreground in the current time interval. Clicking any application will display in the right part of the window the date when the application was active and the time of activity (in hours and minutes). In the lower part of the window the same data are presented in the form of a bar chart divided into individual days.

  • The Daily activities list is shown in the bar chart, in which hours the application was active (in the foreground) and for how many minutes.

  • The third button in the application activity window is User analysis. This button opens a similar window as the Day activities report, except that the Dayactivities report takes into account the user from the selected station, while the User Analysis displays the data of the user who logged on to any station. If a user only logged on to the selected station, the report will look the same as the daily call list. However, if the user has logged on to multiple stations, the window on the left will contain entries from all stations.

Allowed applications

Pressing the button Allowed applications on the tab Users monitoring in the section Application analysis opens a window with a list of the so-called allowed applications, i.e. those whose launch should not affect the settlement of the user's active working time. Such applications can be e.g. explorer.exe (system shell), SBA-IT NO FOCUS (clear screen - "Show desktop"), logon.scr (screen saver).

Adding an application to the list of permitted applications can be done from the window Daily activities list, User analysis, Application history as well as Application activity. To do so, from the pop-up menu, select Add to allowed address/application list, as shown in the following figure.

In order to remove applications from the list, in the Allowed applications window, select the application in question and then select Delete an application from allowed application list from the pop-up menu.

Known applications

Pressing the button Known applications on the tab Users monitoring in the section Application analysis opens a window with a list of all known applications that have been registered in the system, sorted by the frequency of their appearance in the database. Columns AD and AZ mean respectively: application allowed and application prohibited.

When the application is automatically saved to the database, only the name of the executable file is recorded. However, it is possible to describe the file. Then both names (of the application and the executable file) will be presented on lists and printouts, which will facilitate identification of individual applications.
In order to enter the name of the application, double-click the row with the given application or select the option Edit an item from the top menu. The following window will then open, in which the data in the field Application name must be completed and the changes saved.
